Very well acted but perhaps a bit too dark and depressing, 22 September 2008

Allie Raye stars as 'Charity'--a lady who is having a very, very bad
day. First her car is repossessed, then she's given an eviction notice,
then she is fired from her job and it keeps getting worse and worse.
Despite it all, Charity tries to maintain a positive outlook--though as
the film continues, it gets harder and harder.
Raye did a wonderful job in the film and despite being overweight and
far from a traditional actress, her humorous and clever acting made the
film far more enjoyable. I'd really love to see her in more films as
she seems to have great magnetism on camera.
Unfortunately, the story itself could use a bit of work. After a while,
having one bad thing after another occur became rather painful to
watch. Not providing much hope by the end of the film left me feeling
rather down and unsatisfied. Sure, life ISN'T always a happy ending,
but I still think the writers needed to throw the audience a bone, so
to speak.
