After their big premiere party in the Hamptons over the weekend, the kids of Gossip Girl were back to work in NYC yesterday afternoon. While the girls look like they kept things a little more civil this time around, Leighton and Blake were happy to talk about the much anticipated S vs. B scuffle coming our way. Miss Lively said, "We were laughing so hard . . . it was 1a.m. and it was rainy out. We were ad-libbing." While I can't wait to see what causes the claws to come out, in case you missed any of the season one action, it's out on DVD today, so study up! Only a few weeks before classes and catfights resume Sept. 1. To see more of Blake, Leighton, and Ed just read more Splash News Online and Source

Welcome to the world of New York City’s young and privileged Upper East Side. From The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz comes Gossip Girl, based on the popular novels by Cecily von Ziegesar. Fortunately, you don’t have to be familiar with the books to enjoy the series; Gossip Girl quickly possesses you with its seemingly endless glitz and glamour, the traditional markings of Old Money.
The premise for this teen drama is simple enough: Notorious and anonymous blogger Gossip Girl, voiced by Kristen Bell, is our one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s prep school elite. Think TMZ-style paparazzi made up of teenagers with camera phones and bad attitudes.
Spotted: former It girl, Serena van der Woodson (Blake Lively) is back from boarding school after being gone for a year. But why did she leave so abruptly and why has she returned? More importantly, why

The cast of Gossip Girl was back in the Hamptons on Saturday night, but this time it was all play and no work. They got dressed up for an End-of-Summer Bash thrown in their honor by vitaminwater. Blake rocked the Summer whites and Leighton kept it sweet in her innocent dress, while Taylor Momsen was the real attention-grabber in her ultra short mini. The end of Summer means that the new season is just around the corner — check out even more new clips here — and enjoy your last glimpses of the cast looking friendly before the cat fighting commences on the small screen. Lots more of the Gossip gang partying with their vitaminwater so just read more. Who am I to deny the success of Gossip Girl? Along with America's Next Top Model, the vampy New York teen drama is legitimizing CW as a network, at least in terms of ratings and revenue.
The show has made a big star out of Blake Lively, although these things are relative; Jennifer Aniston is a "big star" and she can't navigate a movie career with any more success than she can her relationships. Granted, it's awfully early for Lively, who turns 21 next week, and I'm sure if she did more than Traveling Pants movies and Accepted, her status in the movies might be elevated. You can't really argue, though, that she was the breakout star on television last year, arguably on the breakout show on the tube.
Gossip Girl is gearing up for its second season, which starts Monday, September 1st. The DVD set for season one will be released tomorrow,

Leighton and Blake were back on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC yesterday. From the looks of things the ladies have officially left the Summer gear behind and are showing off their characters' new looks for the Fall, but not before unleashing their claws. Can't wait to see what prompted this cat fight. Buzz has already given us a sneak peek at what we can expect to see in three weeks along with Fab's peek at the fashion, but photos are no match for the banter and backstabbing — brought to us by woman of impact Stephanie Savage — we're so looking forward to in season two. If that's not enough for you, check out this a clip from the season premiere and even more here. To have a little season one refresher check out the recap video, plus more photos, just read more. Lauren Conrad showed off another of her seemingly endless collection of adorable dresses walking around West Hollywood yesterday with her BlackBerry in hand, of course. The Hills returns on Monday (yay!) and as usual the starlet is everywhere as we all gear up to get back into their world. Earlier this week Lauren talked about how surreal it is that tour buses stop in front of her house to take photos — even calling Lo the celebrity dog walker for Chloe! — no wonder her neighbors aren't the biggest fans. She also talked more about her apparently nonexistent love life (still hard to believe) and love of Gossip Girl. Even if Lauren's real life seems to be making her a bigger and bigger star every day, we're so excited it's already time to get back into the knowing looks and never ending drama on her show. Source

Blake Lively has claimed that she is nothing like her troubled Gossip Girl character Serena van der Woodsen. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Lively said her high school years were not as scandal-packed as those of her TV alter ego. She said: "There wasn't a period in my life, like Serena went through, where I was doing drugs and having sex with my best friend's boyfriend. (more)

Actor Chace Crawford denies his character in hit series Gossip Girl encourages teenagers to take drugs.
Crawford plays promiscuous rich kid Nate Archibald in the hit U.S. TV series.
But he denies his drug-taking character encourages the show's young audience to follow suit.
He says, "They're not stupid and it's not like we're making an instruction manual telling them how to drink and do drugs, or have sex. We're just laying out how it is."

Blake Lively smiled big on the set of Gossip Girl yesterday alongside her TV mom Kelly Rutherford. It probably doesn't take much acting for Blake to get excited about Serena's new Fall wardrobe. In fact, we're already gearing up for another season of fabulous clothes — including some extra special coverage of it here on Sugar! The premiere is less than 3 weeks away, and Buzz has your first look at what we can expect when our favorite upper east siders return. It may not be America Ferrera's favorite show, but we're not ashamed to admit how excited we are for the return of our guilty pleasure. Gossip Girl star Blake Lively insists she's nothing like the scandalous character she plays on TV - because she has only kissed three people in her lifetime.
Lively, who plays sexy seductress Serena van der Woodsen on the hit U.S. TV show, has become accustomed to the steamy scenes she frequently shoots with her onscreen love interests.
But the 20-year-old star is convinced she bares no resemblance to her character, because she never had a spoiled upbringing.
She says, "There wasn't a period in my life, like Serena went through, where I was doing drugs and having sex with my best friend's boyfriend. I never went through that kind of crazy.
"I've kissed just three people in my life, other than stuff that I've done for TV or movies.
"I don't drink. I don't do drugs."

Although former American Idol sensation Carrie Underwood has become one of the country music's biggest stars, fame has its downside – especially when it comes to dating, she says. "You never really know why somebody wants to be around you, or if they do genuinely like you," Underwood, 25, tells Allure magazine in the September issue. "I wish everyone had a label on their forehead so you could automatically tell their intentions. Sometimes you just wish that no one wanted anything from you." The star, who earlier this year was inducted into Nashville's Grand Ole Opry, recalls a time soon after her

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Starring Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Amber Tamblyn
Directed by Sanaa Hamri
Rated PG-13
For what it set out to accomplish, the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a good movie. The Godfather has nothing to worry about, of course, but as a film aimed at girls in their awkward teenage years, Sisterhood had a lot of good qualities. Certainly, it had more really good qualities than mediocre ones.
The stories seemed relevant to that audience and believable to those who may not be in the target demographic, the friendships had their ups and downs, and the performances – particularly by America Ferrera – were authentic and noteworthy.
In 2005, the film was something of a showcase for stars of a pair of TV series that enjoyed a big youth following, Amber Tamblyn from Joan of Arcadia and Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls.

You could call "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" a "Sex and the City" for 'tweens, but truthfully the former is a much better movie, albeit far less raunchy.
In the three years since the first "Traveling Pants" was adapted from one of Anne Brashears' novels, two of its little-known ensemble of four have become TV stars - America Ferrara on "Ugly Betty" and Blake Lively on "Gossip Girl."
Surprisingly, they're not rewarded with the juiciest of the four intersecting story lines drawn from three other Brashears novels.

In a unique advertising campaign, the CW network has pulled quotes from negative reviews for Gossip Girl, and is using them in billboard ads to promote the series. Among them, the New York Post's assertion that the show is "a nasty piece of work," and the Parents Television Council's description of it as "mind-blowingly inappropriate." The PTC did not object to its review being used by the network. "Normally," it said, "we have to pay for our outdoor advertising." Meanwhile, on Monday, Gossip Girl picked up six awards at the TeenChoice 2008 ceremony, including Choice TV Show: Drama. It also won for Choice TV: Breakout Show; Breakout Actress in a Drama and Breakout Star Female (Blake Lively), Breakout Star Male (Chace Crawford) and Villain (Ed Westwick).

This weekend, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 arrives in theaters. When the first one was released in 2005, there were two fairly famous names - Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn. Both starred in critically acclaimed TV shows, Gilmore Girls and Joan of Arcadia, respectively. Now the shoe is clearly on the other foot; those shows are no longer on the air, and America Ferrera won an Emmy last year for Ugly Betty and the fourth member of the sisterhood, Blake Lively, is the star of one of the hottest youth-oriented shows on television, Gossip Girl.
I was looking for something - anything - relevant to Traveling Pants 2 to write about here at The Big Picture (leading up to their release, we always like to feature the new releases the studios let us see), and I came across this compilation of environmentally conscious public service announcements featuring the Gossip Girl cast. Clearly,

Chace Crawford may be known as Gossip Girl's heartthrob Nate Archibald, but if that acting thing doesn't work out, the 23-year-old actor could always try relationship counseling. Fergie turns out to be as big a Miley Cyrus fan as anybody – as the Black Eyed Peas singer demonstrated at Sunday's 10th annual Teen Choice Awards. During the Hannah Montana star's opening number – Cyrus hosted the show, at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre – she performed her single "7 Things," running in every direction but stopping to deliver a rose to audience member Fergie. And Fergie's reaction? Just like any other Hannah Montana fan's. She started jumping up and down. Cyrus had three reasons of her own to jump for joy, too – nabbing the prizes – which are surfboard trophies – for choice TV comedy,

CW has successfully pulled off creating teen dramedies that get under the viewers' skin, thus enabling the show to survive for a couple or more seasons. Take One Tree Hill or Gossip Girl, two of the most popular teen shows of its time. Now, the CW is investing in yet another show that will definitely bring in the laughter and drama, and not to mention, the bling. Privileged, which debuts on the CW in September 9, is no Gossip Girl rip-off.
In fact, Comic-Con audiences see it as a cross between Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl. Oddly enough, it might be a mixture of both shows. The show, which will air every Tuesday at 9pm, stars Lucy Kate Hale and Ashley Newbrough as the filthy rich kids under the tutelage of Megan Smith, played by Joanna Garcia.
Recently, Lucy Kate Hale wrote her thoughts about the show on her official website.
