INDIE NEW ON DVD
New on DVD: City of Men

New to DVD this week is City of Men, the continuation of the TV series of the same name and the follow-up to Fernando Meirelles' Academy Award-nominated City of God. Just before best friends Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha) and Acerola (Douglas Silva) turn 18, the issue of fatherhood looms large for both young men in different ways; while Acerola deals with trying to raise his son, he also helps Laranjinha search for the identity of his father. Struggling to get by and searching for answers, the boys are suddenly caught up in a sharp shift in their already-violent Rio de Janeiro neighborhood, as a newly erupted gang war divides them and paternal secrets uncovered threaten both their lifelong friendship, and possibly their lives. Visit the City of Men official site. Buy City of Men on DVD.
